With TOEFL and SAT exams behind them, current EaSEP students are heading home to monitor the college application process and all the electronic paperwork that comes with it. Families of the students gathered at EaSEP’s Nandi Hills camp following the SAT Subject Tests in early November.
A big thank you to volunteer tutors including Paige Kouba (Harvard), Benjamin Letting (Harvard), and EaSEP alums Johnstone Kipyator (Stanford), Mercy Kiprotich (Cornell), Winsome Toroitich (St. Lawrence), and Kevin Biwot (University of Nairobi Law School).
EaSEP board members Erik Heinonen (One Acre Fund, Burundi) and Janet Heinonen (Oregon) also helped tutor this year and worked with Paige to set up the curriculum. Erik, Kevin and Faith Laboso (EaSEP, Egerton University School of Medicine) assisted EaSEP chair Lillian Boit in recruitment and selection of students. Cornellius Metto (EaSEP, Princeton) helped trouble shoot internet access issues at the Nandi Hills camp.
