Cecilia Maina has the distinction of being EaSEP's first graduate at a U.S. college. Cecilia graduated May 18 from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts with dual degrees in Economics and Psychology. She was a member of EaSEP's fledgling class of 2009, then meeting in Eldoret. She is a graduate of Moi Girls' High School in Eldoret.
Two other members of the 2009 class, Georgina Tolgos (Mount Holyoke) and Gideon Too (Wesleyan) will graduate later this month.
Cecilia enjoyed working as a currency trader intern for Forex Signs in Beijing during her junior year and plans to work for a year in Connecticut before attending graduate school in either Accounting or Economics. She will be working with TicketNetwork's executive training program.
"My internship in China was a wonderful experience and I would be happy to discuss it with anyone from EaSEP interested in interning abroad," she says.
