Kevin Biwot (Class of 2010, currently a law student at the University of Nairobi) directed SAT and TOEFL study this year, aided by alums Gloria Kurere, Faith Laboso, Winsome Toroitich, Brian Kibiwott, Daniel Kipchumba, Victor Rono, Caren Tanui, Gideon Kiptarus and EaSEP guest Dennis Korir.
A large contingent of EaSEP parents joined their students for lunch and festivities at the Nandi Hills camp in September and generously contributed furniture, class equipment and food for the camp setup. Shem Aywa and Elizabeth Omukunda, parents of Martha Aywa, hosted the EaSEP class for dinner at their home in Kakamega.
Henry and Ellen Chesumbai, Nandi Hills residents and relatives of EaSEP chair Lillian Boit and husband Mike, also hosted the class for dinner after a tour of the George Mutai Educational Centre. The Chesumbais founded the school on their property to honor their son, George Mutai, an outstanding postgraduate scholar in the United States who died in an auto accident.
Special thanks also go to EaSEP board member Paul Sang of Kenyatta University's School of Business, for helping prepare the program's successful application to the Kenya Commercial Bank Foundation for sponsorship.
