
Brian Kibiwott, vice chair of the Kenyatta University School of Pharmacy Students’ Association, attended the African Pharmaceutical Congress in Tanzania this summer while Geofrey Yatich (Wesleyan) spent his spring break helping restore hurricane-damaged homes in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kevin Biwot (University of Nairobi School of Law) continues his volunteer work assisting EaSEP chair Lillian Boit in program and recruiting coordination.
Georgina Tolgos (Mount Holyoke) was in Budapest, Hungary for a semester last fall. Gloria Kurere (Cornell) was in Boston during winter break for the 160-hour Fullbridge Program which helps undergraduates bridge the gap between classroom and workplace. Gloria is also starting a Partners in Health program at Cornell and volunteers as a coordinator with Cornell’s Swahili language program. Sam Bor is a research assistant for a theater at Pomona College. Victoria Kiplagat is working this summer with Brown University’s one-to-one tutoring program for refugee children in Providence, RI.

Congratulations to Wesleyan senior-to-be Gideon Too for making the Dean’s List this spring and earning recognition from Omicron Delta Epsilon, the international honor society for scholastic achievement in Economics. Gideon also won Wesleyan’s Plukas Teaching Apprentice Award for excellent service to the Economics Department. As a senior, Gideon will be a member of Wesleyan’s Student Judicial Board.
Kudos as well to Ivan Kibet, a junior-to-be at Cornell, has been on the Dean’s List for the last three semesters.
