![]() Abigael Metto Three EaSEP students have been named MasterCard Foundation scholars as part of a new $500 million initiative to provide bright, economically disadvantaged students from sub-Saharan Africa with a global education. The 10-year program, announced last fall, has partnerships with six U.S. universities/colleges, three Canadian universities and universities in Ghana, Costa Rica and Lebanon. ![]() Cynthia Kipkorir Congratulations to a pair of EaSEP students who will be heading to opposite sides of the U.S. this year. Cynthia Kipkorir has received a scholarship to Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts where she will join Georgina Tolgos, a member of EaSEP’s inaugural class of 2009. Johnstone Kipyator will attend Stanford University in California. ![]() Winsome Toroitich Winsome Toroitich and Dennis Korir persisted in their pursuit of a U.S. education by applying to universities for a second year. They both were admitted to St. Lawrence University (New York) where they will join EaSEP’s Wesley Kirui, currently a freshman. Although never an official member of EaSEP, Dennis availed himself of a chance to join the 2011 group mid-session for tutoring and help with school selection.
